Meet Lee Zelina
My name is Lee Zelina. I have worked as a speech-language pathologist for 28 years. I have worked at Hyman Hearing and Speech Center for 8 years. I also have experience in a variety of areas including: skilled nursing facilities, public/charter schools, and telepratice. Education/Certification/Licensure: Eastern Michigan University- M.A., Bowling Green State University- B.A., ASHA Certification, Ohio Licensure. I really enjoy working at here because it allows me the opportunity to be creative and fully use my skills and therapeutic judgement! My expertise is in the areas of: articulation, apraxia, language, fluency, aphasia, autism, dysphagia, and memory. I have specialized training/certification in the following areas: ‘Lively Letters’ (teaches articulation and reading simultaneously), ‘Systematic Articulation Training Program Accessing Computers (SATPAC), Picture Exchange Communication Program (PECS), and ‘Freedom of Fluency and in instructing accurate use of the Speecheasy (Anti-stuttering device). I enjoy getting to know my clients and customizing goals and activities that will allow them to achieve therapy goals as quickly as possible. I also instruct parents/caregivers in therapy techniques, appropriate cueing, and recommendations to allow them to comprehend the therapy approach and to reinforce new skills for successful carry-over of new skill into every day conversation and life!!! I am married and have two sons who are currently attending college. I am an animal lover and have many pets including a dog, 2 cats, a horse and a homing pigeon. I love to work out, show my horse, and design greeting cards!
